Wedding Cake and Roy's Peak
A [relatively] simple and straight forward wedding cake Cat made for the wedding of two close friends.
The mountain you can see in the background is Roy's Peak, which Bearkunin climbed with the two brides.
This was part of a crazy couple months where Cat made two wedding cakes for distant weddings (the first a four hour drive away over atrocious mountain roads, the second overseas) in quick succession. We had an extra little suitcase full of Cat's cake equipment, which of course the airline lost, and luckily returned to us on the last possible day Cat could start the cake.
The cake itself is an Earl Grey-infused chiffon cake filled with macerated strawberries, lemon curd and vanilla buttercream.

And some pictures of Roy's Peak and the trek up (starting at 2am to catch the sunrise!)

Roy's Peak in its sublime majesty

Milky Way was on full display as we ascended

A majestic moonrise as we climbed the mountain

Sunrise breaking as we reached the summit
